No Crabby Patties for us.

Here is the response I got from McDonalds reguarding my Grilled Cheese request:

Unsolicited Ideas

Thank you for your interest to share an idea for a product or service that you believe would be beneficial to McDonald's. Please know, however, that it is McDonald's company's policy not to consider unsolicited ideas from anyone other than our corporate employees, franchise owners and dedicated suppliers. It's not that great ideas cannot come from our valued customers. Each year, however, McDonald's receives thousands of unsolicited ideas and proposals for products and services. Due to the mass volume of these unsolicited ideas and the business challenge of determining what is truly a "new" idea versus a concept that is already in development, being tested, or previously considered, we must adhere to a strict policy not to accept or review any unsolicited ideas that come from outside the McDonald's system of our corporate employees, franchise owners and suppliers.

As a result, we must decline your invitation to review your idea, and hope you can understand and appreciate our business reasons for making this company decision. We do, however, greatly appreciate your interest in McDonald's.
I DID however, find the actual Crabby Patty recipe:
Here's an actual recipe:
Nick.com has a recipe made up for Krabby Patties even though they aren't hamburgers like shown in the tv show. In a feature on the DVD release of "Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies", Tom Kenny (the voice of Spongebob) mentioned that there IS a real Krabby Patty recipe, and many fast-food enterpeneurs have tried to ask for it. When the actors who play the characters on the show first signed up, they (quoted by Tom Kenny) "had to sign reams and reams of disclaimers saying that, 'IF the [true] Krabby patty recipe were to ever be revealed to anyone, then... there would be auditions for your character the next day.'"However, in the November 2004 issue of Nickelodeon Magazine, there was an interview with Stephen Hillenburg where Steve reveals that he doesn't know the Krabby Patty recipe.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion 2 tbsp. finely chopped celery 4-6 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. thyme 1 lb. frozen imitation crabmeat, (defrosted and finely chopped in a food processor) 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard 2 tbsp. mayonnaise (plus 1 cup for dipping sauce) 2 eggs, lightly beaten Salt and pepper (to taste) 3 tbsp. ketchup (for dipping sauce)
Cooking method:
Step 1 - Sauté the onions and celery in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the thyme, lower the heat, and cook until the onions are translucent. Step 2 - In a large bowl combine the crabmeat, sautéed onions and celery, bread crumbs, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, egg, salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine. Step 3 - Shape into rounds by using a small ice cream scoop, then gently pat flat. Step 4 - Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet. Working in batches (2 to 3 crab cakes at a time) place the crab cakes in a skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. You may need to add more oil for the second and third batches. Step 5 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Transfer the crab cakes to the baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. The crab cakes can be kept in a warm oven for approximately 30 minutes, or they may be reheated at serving time. Serve with a kid-friendly dipping sauce. Mix 1 cup of mayonnaise with 3 tablespoons of ketchup. Try eating it with bread.
Here's the authentic, fictitious list of ingredients:
(Secret Ingredients)2 Seaweed Seed Buns Seahorse meat Patty Sea Lettuce Sea Cheese Onions Tomatoes Mustard and Ketchup Pickles Secret Sauce A pinch of King Neptune's Trident Magic Dust. (Only found in the Cave of Mysterious Matter: Located under Bikini Bottom approximately a half of a mile west) (Fake secret formula)The secret formula was never revealed on the show, this recipe is the one discovered by Sheldon Plankton in Plankton's Army, it was later revealed by Mr. Krabs as a diversion to Plankton. This is not the real recipe:A pinch of salt 3 Teaspoons of chopped onions A cup of love 4 heaping pounds of freshly ground plankton (Most Important) In the same episode Mr. Krabs told Squidward that the formula shown above was not the actual one. Squidward however knew where Mr. Krabs had hidden it, at home, under his mattress. In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Plankton eventually stole it in as part of his evil Plan Z and it was sold at the Chum Bucket, along with free bucket helmets with every purchase.

The Crabby Patty!

I was in line at the bank yesterday and I overheard two 'mothers' talking about taking their children to lunch at McDonald's. The one mother said to the other-- "my daughter eats a cheeseburger with no meat". I said-- "I'm sorry to eavesdrop, but WHAT?". They all laughed and she explained to me that she orders a cheeseburger with no meat from McDonald's-- its just a bun, cheese, ketchup, pickles, and onions. She says her daughter calls it a Crabby Patty.

I've always wondered what a crabby patty looked like! Now we know.

OK, so with this information floating around in my head, I though 'McDonald's should sell grilled cheese sandwiches'. They already have the bun and cheese and kids love 'em. Well, I've sent an email to the corporate offices-- I'll let you know how it turns out.

What do you think they would call them?

PSI

I had to put air in the tires of my mini van today. I have a computer that tells me what the PSI is for each tire, but not one to tell me what it SHOULD be, so I stopped and added air and now I find out that maybe-- just maybe-- I've added too much. Why is this rocket science?

I don't mind adding the air, it's the dirty hands I don't like.

Fitness is Everything

I want to take a second to remind everyone of the walk this weekend.. A few of our members raised money and are doing this walk....

I also want to add how important it is to be in good shape. You can have all the money in the world, you could send your children and grandchildren to Disneyland/world, but if you can't walk, run, ride, and enjoy the adventure with them--- it's no good. It's so important to get up and get moving.... take a walk, do some squats while you brush your teeth, do sit-ups during the commercials of your favorite show, get to the gym, get out-- get going! ANY exercise is better than NO exercise.
