Over Eating

I had one of those days today! One of those days when you run around all day, from one end of the county to the other and never seem to find time to eat....
Kids had a dentist appointment this afternoon at 315 is Solomons. I took them and we were there for almost 2 hours. I was SOOOOOOO hungry-- I had hardly eaten all day. I asked my parents if they wanted to meet for dinner at Outback. Big mistake when you are hungry...That's my sangria-- it was yummy- but on an empty stomach? Not too wise.
That's Sydney with the menu, she wants one of everything and so do I... Let's start with some bread and a bloomin' onion!

Ah, the bread with the wonderful honey butter....

Followed by a huge prime rib and a side of broccoli... Now I am super full!
Has this ever happen to you? Don't eat all day and than eat WAY too much for dinner? I found a few tips to help us recover from over eating!

Here are the things you need to consider after indulging a little too much.
Drink More Water The Following Day
Many of the foods we often consume when indulging a little too much are going to be higher in sodium. Because of this, it's much more likely that we will see a good deal of water weight gain the next day.
Many people are quick to become scared after seeing this, so it's firstly important to realize that this does not represent true weight gain and second, important to drink plenty of water the following day as that is what will help you most when it comes to removing this water weight.
Furthermore, the more water you drink, the less likely you are to overeat the following day, which will obviously be something you'll want to be sure of to prevent further weight gain.
Eat More Protein Rich Food
The next thing you should be doing is trying to increase your consumption of protein rich foods the following day.
This serves two purposes.
First, it helps to ensure that you meet your needs for that day because if you were not eating optimally before, you may not have reached your needs for the day before, and secondly, it also will serve to decrease hunger levels as protein tends to be the most satisfying macronutrient.
Don't Limit Food Too Much
While you definitely do want to watch how much food you're eating, you don't want to start limiting the food you eat too much as this could promote another binge from taking place.
Whenever you go without food for too long - while you are hungry, you really set yourself up for overeating because once you do finally eat, you'll have difficulty stopping.
So, do your best to make sure you are still eating regularly, just choose more lower calorie foods for the following day or two.
So, keep these three points in mind after you find yourself waking up from a day of too much overeating. Try not to beat yourself up too much over it - it happens to almost all of us.
Those individuals who are too hard on themselves are usually the ones who actually suffer the most damage because they generally just tend to ‘throw in the towel completely', writing the entire few days off to dietary disaster.
Keep things in perspective and realize that one day of eating too much is not going to set you back all that much. In order to gain one pound of body fat you would need to consume 3500 calories and most people will not take in this amount over and above their needs - even when really indulging.
I would love to hear your home remedies for over eating... ugh!
