Proper Set Stance position for a Body Pump class...
Heels under hips, knees are soft, shoulders are lifted, and shoulders blades pinched together.

(notice my lack of smile above? It was REALLY cold in the GE room Friday morning-- like 58 degrees)
From the side profile, chin is slightly tucked in.
(Just look at that tricep!)

(Just look at that tricep!)
(oh yea, that's a cute picture)
(That's better-- see how happy I am now?)
Again, from the side-- try not to roll or round your shoulders forward. Keep your abs in tight and shoulders lifted.

(that's how I look after eating at the Japanese steak house!)
Perfect set stance is how we start almost every standing track in a Body Pump class. Practicing good technique can help us get stronger!!!!

(on a serious note, proper technique is important and helps reduce injuries in our quick moving and very intense classes-- see you soon!)
